Welcome to the Citizen Corps Council of Carroll County!

Our local council supports efforts to make Carroll County safer, stronger and better prepared in any disaster. This is accomplished through education, training and volunteer service. We provide opportunities for people to participate in a range of volunteer activities to make their families, their homes and their communities safer.

Purpose

  • To encourage everyone to participate in making Carroll County safer.
  • To provide public education and training opportunities and organize volunteer programs to increase community safety.
  • Build on successful efforts already in place in Carroll County.

  • Builds community pride, unity and patriotism.
  • Provides year round support to first responders through volunteer programs.
  • Promotes risk reduction, mitigation and preparedness practices.
  • Prepares citizens to help others in a crisis.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The CERT Program promotes partnering efforts between emergency services and the people that they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to provide training in emergency preparedness and basic response techniques through a train-the-trainer system. CERT members are then integrated into the emergency response capability for their area.

CERT Training is provided in the following areas:
(sessions require about 20 hours of training to complete)

  • Disaster Medical Operations- Assessment, Treatment and Hygiene
  • Light Search and Rescue
