Vision

Volunteer Carroll will be the central resource for volunteerism in Carroll County, mobilizing people and resources to deliver creative solutions to community problems.

Mission

Volunteer Carroll is an interactive volunteer center that works in collaboration with multiple agencies to connect volunteers with service opportunities, assist agencies in achieving their missions and promote volunteerism, creating a healthy community in Carroll County.

History

1999 - Carroll Community College, Carroll County Public Library (CCPL), Carroll County Public Schools (CCPS), and McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) developed a Volunteer Guide as a service learning resource for students.

2000 - Results from a feasibility study completed by the Shriver Center show overwhelming support and need for a volunteer center in Carroll County.

2001 - A Start-up Team was established including partners from McDaniel College, CCPL, CCPS, Carroll County Government, Carroll Community College and The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Inc.

2002 - Volunteer Carroll began operations with the help of a grant from the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism (GOSV). Volunteer Carroll staff begins community outreach through CCPL branches.
